I'm a naturalized Canada and applying for my newborn(born oversea) for Citizenship Certificate.

In the form it said:
"1. Two (2)pieces of personal ID, such as a passport, a driver's license or a health insurance card, one of which must have your photo on it."

Can I use his Birth Certificate(English) for this requirement? I do his health insurance card(but is not in English).

Also, in the form, under documents checklist, some documents require "Certified Copy" and some require only "Copy". But whats the difference as far as what we need to prepare these documents?

Really appreciate any help on this matter.

Include the child's birth certificate showing you as his father. For ID, because a newborn wouldn't have any, include copies of your ID. Documents that are not in English or French require a translation (and translator's affidavit...see instructions). When they say "certified copy," the easiest thing to do is to send the original certificate as issued by the government of the country you are in. However, the document will not be returned. Alternatively, you can take the original certificate to an approved person (notary public) and have it "certified" as a true copy of the original (see instructions). When the instructions simply say "copy," that means you can make the copy on your own and it does not need to be certified.
