Need Help/Advice Please

Hi,

I have applied for temp work permit visa at Beirut VAC on 10-Apr-2014. According to the visa office website and emails and according to the VAC it should take in average 4 weeks (20 working days). Now I am into the 38th working day and still no update. I have emailed the VO 10 days back and they said it's still under assesment.

Anyone know what could be the reason for such big deviation from the average processing time?

Note: I am Syrian, and I have applied for open work permit for my wife and TRV for my son too. We have my employer's lawyer who took care of all the documents/forms.

According to the CIC web site the processing times for this visa office are 2 months.

Additionaly they have confirmed the 4 weeks time by mail and also the VAC
