Hi guys,

I came as a visitor to study english for 3 months. In the time, I made a decision to change my program to Work and Study(6 months - 3 studying and 3 working). The School said that it´s ok change my program, so, I just pay the fee and they send my application to Alberta. My question is:

-It is possible with my visitor visa only, apply for work permit??? They already sent my application to Alberta on June 1st and I still waiting for the answer.

I need help because I think that this is not possible and I waste my money :(

You would have to apply for your initial WP/visa to a consulate/visa office outside Canada. You also need to attach the LMO in your name and proof that you qualify for the job.

Hi,

but I didnt find any job. I just changed my program at school to Working and Study. I finished my portion os studies and now I paid a fee at school to apply for a WP. My questions is if this is possible with just a visitor visa? because I feel like it´s wrong.

They already sent my application to Alberta on June 1st

Sorry - your information is confusing. There is no "work and study" program. If you are here as a visitor, then you cannot work and can only attend a school program that is less than six months. If you were here on a study visa, then you would only qualify for a work permit after finishing six months of full time studies (but you aren't here on a study visa and you haven't finished six months of full time studies).

You definitely don't qualify for a post graduate work permit.

On what basis did you apply for a work permit? In other words, how do you qualify for a work permit? Are you possibly refering to a co-op?

Let me explain

I came here to Toronto to study only for 12 weeks (March until June). My program was General English Full-Time. Before I finish my program I went to school to change my program. They said that it is possible to change for study and Work program(6 months program - 3 months studying and 3 months working)

I already completed 3 months studying before I change my program so I only have to work for 3 months.

So, I pay the fee and a consult Immigration send my application to Alberta for a work permit only. The School sent all the documents showing that I completed Full time studies for 3 months and pay all the fees.

But I worried because I dont´t know if it is possible. That´s why I´m here asking for help about this doubt!
