Hi everyone,
I have many questions regarding my job. As im confused that the job should be related to study or should just be in the noc lists. Also if cec file get rejected because of reasons like the job wasnt in the noc A and B category. What would be the options, I will have after that to get immigration.

Job should be related to the noc code you list on your application. It doesn't necessarily have to be related to your study, but there is an element of this if your NOC code is for a restricted job that has an educational requirement.

If you're unsure which NOC code matches your job, your best option is to contact the HRSDC http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/ContactUs.aspx

Supply them with your job duties, and they will do their best to match it to the NOC code for your job.

Your employment experience does NOT have to be related to your study/degree program. If you study computer science but work for a year as a cook (a skilled NOC), you still qualify.

The requirements for work are clearly stated in the instructions, no need to invent additional requirements that are not part of the instructions. If you are applying in the post-graduate stream, you need to work 12 months full-time (or equivalent of 12 months full-time) in a skilled occupation (NOC O, A, or B).

Hi Seton,

Contacting HRSDC is better by sending mail to Quebec with job description or sending e-mail is the option as well. I have troubles finding my NOC as well.
Thank you!,
Irina

IrinaL,

Emailing HRSDC was discussed earlier, and those who got a response said that it took them approximately 2 weeks. Hardcopy or mail would probably take longer. I myself am waiting for a reply (via email). Maybe someone else can speak to the option of using regular mail..
