HI guys.. i'm TFW currently on implied status since January 2015..i just got my Supervisor LMIA few days ago..so i'm planning to extent my work permit from Boarder...but i have a few question which bother me a lot..if you can help me out with this then would be a great help for me..thanks in advance..

1. I have a supervisor LMIA on my name (NOC B), but i don't have any experience in past while in Canada but do have in my back home, this is my first supervisor LMIA..so can officer ask about my experience even though i have LMIA on my name? if he ask then can i show it to him the one i got from my back home?...as i never show that experience to immigration before..or can he give me a refusal on that doubt?

2. As my status was expired in January 2015 ..so i don't have valid TRV..if incase he give me refusal so can i go back? or i need to leave country?

3. what question they are asking for work permit extension?

Please need some expert advise on this...or should i go for Online vegreville application?
Thanks.

If you need a TRV, then you don't have a visa-exempt passport, right?

You can only flagpole with a V-E passport.

Apply online.

What country are you from? You have to be from a visa exempt country if you want to flagpole like the poster said above.

To flagpole, you need to be from a visa-exempt country, with a valid status.

Implied status does not count, even if you were from a visa exempt country.

So, in a nutshell, you CANNOT flagpole.

There's nothing "technical" about it.

If you have a visa-exempt passport, you can go to the border, receive an administrative refusal of entry to the U.S. And turn around to re-enter Canada & validate/apply for your new WP.

You can't apply for a new WP/WP extension at the border if you don't have a visa-exempt passport.

Of course you'll lose implied status if you leave at this point. What is more important, is that you need to apply online/on paper to renew your WP.

*If* you go to the border, and *if* the U.S. allow you to enter (not flagpole), you will need a new TRV to re-enter Canada. If you go to the border & the U.S. refuses you entry, & Canada refuses you re-entry because you do not have a valid visa, what would you do then???

Hi, I was hoping to get some help here.
Employer applied for LMIA in March.
My work permit expired May 13
April 25 I applied for a work permit with the LMIA file no. on the application. Worked on implied status until

August 17, received a letter stating my WP application had been denied because LMIA hadn't been approved.
August 25 LMIA approved.

I stopped working August 17. Currently waiting in Canada to decide what to do.
I understand I can't flagpole because I am out of status?

I can't post a links but as far as I understand: My passport is from Ireland. I require an eTA but not a visa to enter Canada. If I return to Ireland and immediately back to Canada, will I be able to obtain a work permit at the port of entry?
