Hi,
Given below are the brief details of a case. Request Quorax/seniors please advise :

Applied for Canadian PR to NDVO in 1/2012 and processing started in April. Medicals and passports of the entire family (couple & two children) submitted in May 2012 and re-medicals were done for the primary applicant, submitted in December 2012. Questions are :

a) As on date, only medicals received is appearing after the final medicals in December. Till date no further change in ecas. But recently background verification to the current employer is made. What does that denote?
b) If visa is issued, will it be valid for one year from the last medical done to the primary applicant? For the remaining family, how would it be? Will their medicals lapse if they do not get the visa before one year from their medicals?
c) Meanwhile the minor passports may expire in September 2013. How would this affect the visas?

Please suggest the best course of action Quorax... please please please.

Your visa will be issued with a validity date of one year from the date of latest medical which is Dec 2012. Being you are the principal applicant your accompanying family members also will be given the same validity period, if they were not required by visa office to go for a re-medical along with you. However, the expiry date of the visa is also correlated with the expiry of the individual passports and medical date, which ever comes first. Therefore all the family members including yourself should have sufficient validity for all passports. An Indian passport can be renewed one year before to its expiry. Therefore you can renew it now.

I have known of a case, exact scenario, except, visa was dated to match first date of medicals for all in family.
