We applied for immigration PR since 5 years. we are living in Dubai. We passed the interview in Turkey (Quebec) in 2013, and just last month made the medical examination, where me and my husband have passed, but unluckily my son did not. Hes 3 years old, with autism spectrum!! they asked assessments and report to be done by a specialist, which we provided to them last week. Till today no reply! ususally how long is it taking to get reply? and what will happen? our application will be rejected?? accepted?? as my son need therapy sessions (behavior, speech and occupation)for his condition, and like other child need to go to nursery followed by school later on. how long is it taking to evaluate the case usually, and do you have any idea about the cost of the therapy? thank you.

Firstly I appreciate your patience to hang on for 5 yrs. All Visa Office's have got different processiong times so no one can surely tell you when will you get reply and I doubt based on your child's situation they can refuse your visa because I havnt found or read it anywhere that Canada doesnt allow such medical conditions. They will only reply once they r fully satisfied with medicals and then you will receive your passport submission request.

Hope for the best and once again salute your patience :)

Thank you all. Hope positive reply will come up soon. as no more patience :D, and I know very well that my son will get more help in respect of therapies for his case in Canada than where I am living.

But do you have any idea about excessive demand on Canada's health and social services? as I feel the case of my son will be under this category. any idea??

Unfortunately this is completely incorrect. A child with Autism could certainly be denied for excessive demand reasons. And if the child is denied - the entire application will be refused as well.

Hopefully your child will not fall under excessive demand. If he does - you will receive a letter that will provide you with the opportunity to argue that the costs of his treatment will not be excessive. I would suggest you search for 'autism' on this forum to see what others have done in these cases. Good luck - hope everything works out.

Re: passport query

Need your view.

We got our Passport stamped with Single entry visa last month (i.e in May 2015) with validity until first week of Dec 2015 for my family.

I have query here
1) Is it require whole family to travel together? Or Main applicant can go first and then rest of the family can join before first week of Dec.
2) My son passport is valid until 5th Dec 2015. it has one Singly entry Canada visa which was stamped last month. will there be any issue in travelling or ticket booking because his passport would be valid for a period of less than 6 months. Planning to fly in Jul 2015.
3) Can I renew my son passport now? Would there be any issue in flying then with new passport.
