Hello, Ali you are a great advisor!
Here's my situation:
I am a Belgian citizen and due to get married this October in Vancouver. After obtaining the marriage certificate, we will submit the application under the sponse law.
After the wedding I would like to reside with my wife to be in Ottawa. Now, I understand that it can take up to 12 months (according to a Canadian Immigration representative in Paris) before I can recieve my work permit.
Is there a quicker way of obtaining this work permit? I can be content with 6 months, but 1 year looks unattractive on the cv and in the bank account.
I am fluent in both French and English. I am educated and a professional IT consultant in Belgium (don't know if this helps).
Thanks,
Zahed
