Hi friends i need a solid advice from you because my consultant doesn't know anything the reason is below :-

In 2009 i applied for GBC in certificate course for Jan 10 Session, but due to delay in my education loan, I didn't able to apply on time and the VFS Canada sent my file back asking for new offer letter for next session.
I did get Education loan of 3 Lakhs from HDFC bank in December 23,2009. Paid full fee of 11,700 CAD $ in advance.

The college sent me a new offer letter for September session, but today my consultant told me that i have to renew my education loan up to 7.5 Lakhs so, I can only apply under SPP. But i don't want to take education loan as i have already played full fee and will be showing liquid money of around 6 Lakhs in Saving Bank Account (maintain for 6 months). Will it be enough ???

Now my main concern is that can I only apply under SPP not in general program and do i have to take education loan again .. is it compulsory !! because my Consultant tole me that GBC comes under SPP and i have to apply under that there is no other way !

Please help me and tell me what can i do to make my case strong !

rags83: Your consultant is probably not a licensed CSIC member or a lawyer. Be careful as these so called "education consultants" who are nothing but agents or don't have any credentials.

Now regarding SPP you need to confirm $8,000 CAD or approximately 3 lak 60,000 rupees but this does need to be in the way of a loan not actual cash. I think the reason for this is that as this SPP is an extremely fast visa processing program, they do not want to spend time for income confirmation of your parents. If you show a loan from a major bank they do not need to do this as the bank would not have given the loan without collateral or income.

Hope that helps.

This is the application processing times for Study Permit.
Percentage of Cases Processed at Individual Asia and Pacific Visa Offices 2 days or less 7 days or less 14 days or less 28 days or less
Bangkok 22% 37% 62% 86%
Beijing 1% 5% 18% 35%
Chandigarh 32% 55% 64% 90%
Colombo 11% 29% 44% 67%
Dhaka 41% 55% 59% 92%
Ho Chi Minh 1% 1% 4% 13%
Hong Kong 19% 21% 25% 72%
Islamabad 5% 10% 19% 38%
Jakarta 12% 26% 50% 83%
Kuala Lumpur 9% 14% 20% 54%
Manila 13% 30% 33% 36%
New Delhi 4% 14% 32% 76%
Seoul 2% 23% 63% 90%
Shanghai - - - -
Singapore 7% 11% 17% 39%
Sydney 14% 37% 62% 83%
Taipei 32% 50% 76% 91%
Tokyo 9% 43% 67% 88%

Nowhere it is mentioned that SPP program will have faster processing times when 76% of the cases are decided in 28 days or less.

This is what SPP is:

The Student Partners Program is open to Indian nationals only. Students do not apply to the SPP; they apply to a participating college and may be considered under the program if they meet specific criteria. Application submission under the SPP is at the discretion of each participating college. Students interested in submitting applications under the program are encouraged to contact the participating college of their choice for information. The Student Partners Program involves close cooperative partnership and feedback from the participating colleges to ensure student compliance with the terms of their study permits. Essential to the program feedback mechanism is the student's consent for the institution to provide information on attendance. The student must sign the consent declaration on the SPP checklist in order to be processed under this program.

So, you don't have to go to SPP instituion only. Inshort, your consultant knows JACK!!!!

CSIC Student: The SPP program was a pilot project for India ONLY .. It won't be reflected in the stats as it is new .. very new. It is faster as they only require 3 weeks .. the reason for this is that unlike regular visa applications they do their medical BEFORE they apply for visa + other things like loan instead of cash confirmations.
