Good day to everyone in this community!
I would like to seek help/advice to anyone especially those connected with the VISA application offices to direct me and my wife to what proper procedures we may do to save my Immigrant VISA application, here are the details.
Currently my wife is a Permanent Resident of Manitoba CA and I am living and a citizen of the Philippines and we are applying for a Immigrant visa under the family sponsorship program. All pertinent documents were sent by my wife to the immigration office in Mississauga through Canada Post. Just today my wife received parts of the application package returned to her by the Canada Post with a note informing her that the application package envelope has been somewhat destroyed and some of the contents of the envelope may or may not be lost or destroyed. Problem is upon tracking the said package application it was listed to have been received by the visa office yet parts and portion of the application was returned to my wife. This will surely result in a denial for my visa application since the application package is incomplete and on top of that pertinent documents like pictures, cards and other personal stuffs that can help in the approval of my said application are probably lost which can never be replaced. My wife called the visa office and has talked to the customer service representative but the person cannot give further details about what to do or the current situation of our application package and said we must wait for two (2) months or more for a result on whether the application will push through or not. Surely the application will not progress for parts of the application package was returned to my wife and we don't know which documents are still intact, lost or needs to be sent back to the visa office. So please can anyone guide us in what to do? Because on top of the non refundable application fee it is heart breaking that our willingness to be together will be further delayed because of the negligence of the mail service.
*Just additional details, the application package was received by the visa office in Mississauga last October 26, 2011 but the returned parts of the application arrived to my wife just today and Canada Post nor the visa office did not inform my wife of the "state" of the application package up until she received the returned portion. Canada Post informed my wife that they are currently conducting their investigation on the matter and will come up with a result on November 8, 2011. We are just so pissed and frustrated at the moment and would even consider legal actions against Canada Post should their negligence cost our application to be denied. The contents of the application package, most of it are proof of the relationship of me and my wife (pictures, cards, phone bills, etc.) spanning the period of thirteen (13) years, most of it covering the time before our marriage.
