Hi! I would just like to ask for advice. Me and my friend processed our working visa here in hong kong, but we plan to go to the philippines for a vcation and fly to canada directly fr the philippines. Totoo po ba na kailangan pa magpamedical ulit doon, and undergo the same process for those who got hired in the philippines?

Please help, ayaw nmn po namin mahold sa immigration dahil lng sa gusto muna namin makita ang mga pamilya nmin bago sumabak sa panibagong trabaho. Salamat po!

No need to take medical. You just need to process lots of requirement like POLO OEC OWWA DOLE PDOS. It will take about a month or more to do that. I suggest go to Philippines for a vacation now then go back to hk before you got your visas.

After i got my working visa from Israel, i went directly to the Philippines to see my family before going here in Canada. You have to attend PDOS (Pre Departure Orientation Seminar ) after that pay and get OEC (Overseas Employment Certificate) from POEA and pay OWWA Membership, Since both of you are in HK why dont you visit The Philippine Consulate there and ask this requirements that i have mentioned so that it will be easier for both of you, or if you want you can have it done in THe Philippines, NO NEED FOR ANOTHER MEDICAL EXAM IN THE PHILIPPINES ,kasi Sa HK na process ang Canadian working visa niyo.Good Luck!

In my case 45days ako sa Pinas nun kasi i ask permission naman sa agency dito nun sa Toronto at sa magging employer ko at ok naman s kanila ,indi kayo ma hold sa immigration sa Pinas as long merun kau OEC, this is very important to show that you are a documented OFW.kya its better to visit the Philippine Consulate in HK kasi merun naman POLO (Philippine Overseas Labor Office) dun sa office nila at dun na kau kumuha ng OEC at magbayad ng OWWA. para indi na kau mahirapan sa Pinas.

yes you will be hold if you dont have OEC, to get OEC you need POLO. its complicated to go home.
Do you have visa already stamp in your passport? Or still in process?

Yes the visa is already stamped in the passport. We already called the phil consulate here in hk to inquire but it seems that they dont know how to handle these types of cases. We will try to inquire again next week. Paiba iba kasi yung naririnig naming sagot from poea so naguguluhan at natatakot kami.

Yeah I would echo wsongco and BOYZONE2 here. Even if your visas were issued in HK, you plan to be exiting using your visas (canada) from the PH. The immigration officers are pretty wary nowadays - there were reports before they were in particular looking for workers bound abroad using HK, Bangkok, KL etc. as jump point enroute to final destination. As you are not required to have visas to these countries, you are exiting the PH as a visitor - so PDOS, POEA, OEC regulations do not apply to you. That was a loophole before.

Immigration officials will definitely see your visa to Canada, regardless of where this was issued, as this is a worker's visa - you are still technically a worker exiting the PH. So you will have to comply to POEA regulations governing the exit of workers - that is OEC, PDOS, OWWA. Immigration will query you on your final destination, in some cases it is even the airline ground staff who asks the question before allowing you to check-in.

Why not ask somebody from the PH to call up POEA on your behalf - para naman siguro kayo sa steps? Lately, regulations and memos from POEA have been relaxed in their implementation - perhaps simpler na lang ang process.
