Hello,
I’m going through a really tough time and could use some guidance. Here’s my situation:
  • Applied for PR (me + spouse): December 2023

My prossice information
  • application received December, 2023
  • eligibility passed
  • criminality passed
  • medicals
  • security not started
  • processing time is 28 months, taking it to April 19, 2026
My wife lives out of Canada and her PR application will be processed by the Embassy of Canada in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The embassy has contact us by her email since the beginning Mar and we have submitted the IMM 0008 and the other forms within a week.
Her PR application status is eligibility processing now.

TBH guys I have serious health issues (can provide medical reports) and had to stop working. IDK what to do to get my wife here.
We have applied for TRV for her and got refused 2 times.

I haven't seen my wife for a long time and with the illness I am facing really harsh time and can't manage my life.
I don't mind if the PR application takes forever for me but I just need her here to have my back.
I feel lost and I think some of you has been in the same situation and could feel me. I am here to get advised and guided.
I know no one in Canada to ask so that's why I am here to share all of this... Thank you.

Have you tried to apply for a TRV for compassionate reasons? Would include proof of your medical condition (medical records, appointments lists, surgery/procedures, hospitals admissions/ER visits), a letter from your physician explaining your diagnosis and prognosis, symptoms you are experiencing, treatment you are undergoing and potential side effects, how long the treatment is expected to take plus expected length of recovery, MD should list your current limitations due to your illness and what support is needed. Would specify if you have family or close friends in Canada and why they are unable to care for you and that you need support from family preferably your wife. You’d need to prove that she has the funds to support her travels and time in Canada and that you can also support yourself and any additional expenses due to her visit if neither of you are able to work. Depending on the length of stay necessary suggested by the doctor to care for you I would ask for that length of visit and include proof of ties to her home country. If approved she should arrive with a return ticket. Best of luck

If she already has two TRV refusals then I don't think it makes sense to try again. She will need to wait for PR to be approved before she can come to Canada.

What about meeting up in a third country which she can easily visit (and which obviously isn't your home country / COP)?

Agree that your best option may be to visit your spouse in a 3rd country. Don’t think there is expedited processing for PRs for protected people and their spouses except maybe for terminal illnesses and that may only be a TRV. Many family members of protected people are not living is good situations. Unfortunately you have a long wait ahead of yourself and will have to find a way to make it work or reassess whether you can remain in Canada.

cant do that..

cant do that..

In that case your options are unfortunately limited.

It's quite unlikely IRCC will expedite the processing of the PR application.

You can try another TRV with stronger evidence but have a big hill to climb given your status and the past two refusals.

Good luck. Hope something works out.
