Hi!
The Open Work Permit Visa was issued to me in October 2022. But, we( I along with my daughter) could not travel. I lost my father in the same month. HENCE, could not plan for next 2 months due to domestic reasons. Then, I had my eye surgery in December 2022. The recovery period was for over a month. In the month of January 2023, I was diagnosed with Cancer. I had been taking the treatment for the same since January 2023. Till the current date, I.e. 12th June 2023, I am going through the last step- the Radiotherapy. It will be over by July 2023. Also, I will be given a certificate by the doctor for fit to travel. Incidentally, my Visa is expiring in August 2023.

Please advise whether my documents will prove enough evidence to let me travel in the month of August 2023. OR I should do the renewal process and then plan for the travel.

Your response is highly appreciable.

So perhaps need a little more background here. You only got OWP? Is there a Spouse visa in the process, or something else?
If your visa is valid till August 23, say 7th August 2023. Book your flight from now for 1st or 2nd of August. Give yourself ample of time to land in Canada, relax a day or two and then approach CIC for whatever is required to be done, all before your visa expires.

Are you being sponsored by your spouse for PR? It's confusing because outland sponsorship did not have the option for OWP back in Oct 2022.
One thing regarding to your medical, if you have gone through and passed medical (for PR), you need to inform IRCC on your new medical condition.

As already stated you are required to update IRCC if there are any significant changes in your health. Your oncologist should prepare a letter stating your diagnosis, treatment plan and prognosis. You can attach the letter to the webform updating your health status. Seems like you may be trying to join a spouse who is working in Canada. When does their WP expire?

Hello Sir!
I am now fine and my Oncologist has permitted me to travel. My treatment will be over by 3rd week of July.
I wanted to ask whether the expiry date is important for an immigrant officer or the expiry month. IF I PLAN my travel in the second week of August as my Visa is expiring in the last month of the same. WILL it be objectionable for me and my child( who is on study visa- and her age is 6 years old) to travel during the above mentioned period.

I am on Spouse Open Work Permit. My husband is already on the study visa since 2 and half years.

Hello Sir!

Will that be objectionable for me and my daughter to travel in the month of August. Does the immigrant officer focus on the expiry date of the visa or the expiry month.

This is NOT family sponsorship as we have stated. Family sponsorship is when a PR or citizen of Canada sponsor their family to become PRs.

Post your question on the international student section or visitor section. What kind of visa does your daughter have?

In general the combination of the date, month and year is the expiration date of a visa. CBSA do not ignore the date and just look at the month and year.. if that's what you mean in your question. And I am not a SIR.

Whether you consider yourself fit for travel doesn’t matter. You are required to notify Canada about any changes in your health. You could be refused entry to Canada even with an approved OWP if there are concerns about your health and that you haven’t notified IRCC about the changes in your health since applying. The decision to approve your OWP was based on you not having had cancer. As already indicated this is an international student issue.
