Need Advice on PGWP Extension Application due to passport expiry- Can't Link My Application and Haven't Received AOR

I did not receive any replies in any other sub so I am posting here even though it is little unrelated.

I applied for a PGWP extension due to my passport expiry. I still got 10 months left on my work permit and was issued until my passport expiry date. I renewed my passport and sent all the documents. Canada Post tracking shows that my application reached the Edmonton office on January 25th, 2025. However, I’m still unable to link my application online, and after reaching out to IRCC via web forms for assistance, they responded saying they cannot find my application, even though I’m sure I sent it to the correct address.
My current work permit will expire in May 2025, and I need to figure out how to show my employer that I am not out of status while my extension is being processed.
I am worried that my application might not be considered "applied" if I didn’t receive an AOR (Acknowledgment of Receipt) or if I am unable to link my application
Does anyone have advice on how to demonstrate that I’m still legally authorized to work in the meantime? Also, should I resend the application or take any other steps to follow up with IRCC? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I

I submitted my application and reached the office on October 22, 2024. It took me 4 months until I was able to link it. As long as you have proof that the office has received the application, there's nothing to worry about. You won't receive AOR since you applied through the mail; only online applicants can get AOR.

4 months is a long time just to connect the application. Could you tell me if I am following the right steps to connect the application ?
1. Log in to my old gckey account used to apply for study and pgwp.
2. link application, Selected Temporary Residence >> Work Permit and Extension
3. UCI > Family Name> New Passport Details(If i select place of birth instead of passport it is saying already connected referring to my original pgwp online application)
4. Type of work permit - open and then finally "which situation applied to candidate" , I selected Post-graduate work permit

I know! It's frustrating to wait that long without being able to link your application and track its updates. You're following the correct steps, so there's nothing to worry about. I was surprised yesterday that some people submitted their applications online and received their extended permits within four months! I wish I had known I could submit it online; it would have been such a relief.

Would it be a good thing to apply online now? and withdraw the paper application once I can link it, I do not mind paying the extra fees, and I certainly do not want to burden ircc agents by launching multiple applications. It is just that the only proof I have is the Canada Post tracking number and I am worried I will be out of status
