Hi everyone,

I’m seeking advice on my current immigration situation. Here’s a bit about my profile:

  • Education: 2-year diploma in IT Software.
  • Work Experience: 1.5 years as a Security Supervisor (NOC TEER 2), which is a higher-skilled job but not related to my field of study.
  • Work Permit: I’m on a 3-year PGWP.
  • Express Entry:
    • My CRS score is 383.
    • CLB level: 7+ in all sections.
  • Alberta Opportunity Stream: I applied, but my field doesn’t align with Alberta’s priority sectors.
I know my CRS score is low, so I’m concerned about my chances of receiving an ITA (Invitation to Apply) for PR.

Questions:

  1. Do I have any realistic chances of getting an ITA with my current score?
  2. Are there other streams or programs in Alberta (or elsewhere) that I should explore?
  3. Any advice on improving my CRS or increasing my chances for PR?
I’d really appreciate any tips or guidance from those who’ve been in a similar situation. Thanks in advance!

Did you study in Alberta?

1. What is EOI? Very low chance with new system, and NOC not related to program
2. Rural program but need job offer and community endorsement in a NOC that is in demand for that community. Other PNPs are not really an option.
3. Learn French to CLB 7
3.

1. Expression of Interest.

2. I know about this, but I do not want to move from a city unless I absolutely have to.

3. How much time do you think it will take to learn French to CLB 7 level?

Would also be somewhat concerned about your NOC. Do you supervise a large staff? Work at corporate headquarters? Some of these supervisor titles are not always justified.

1. No…what is your EOI score. Is it selected for EE along with NOC. I know what it means.
2. Okay then Alberta is not really an option.
3. Do you know any French? CLB 7 is B2 - advanced intermediate so almost fluent. Can you spend hours a day learning a new language.
