Hi there,

I am currently a protected person and have applied for Permanent Residency, which is still in process. My passport from my home country is not in my possession. In the meantime, I got married to a U.S. citizen, and she will be applying for a CR1 Spouse visa for me. I do not yet have a Refugee Travel Document.

If my wife applies for the CR1 Spouse visa on my behalf, will I need a passport to obtain the U.S. visa, or will the Refugee Travel Document suffice? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

This is really a US immigration question and I would therefore recommend posting this question to a US immigration forum. This is a good one:
