Hi everyone,

I have decided to to submit my TRV application, I am considering new york as one place to include on itinerary since I still have a valid US visa to make my case stronger, should I include new york before i enter Canada or after.

regards
Ali

Hi,

IMO, you should defer your plans to visit Canada again for some more time.

You stayed 6 months + 1 month extension on your previous visit. This indicates that you have weak ties to Dubai and Pakistan. It makes your employment ties to appear very weak.

Also, as your wife is a PR.... you may want to consider applying for spousal PR first (that's if your wife plans to return/remain in Canada while your PR is being processed). You can then consider applying for a TRV after SA

Cheers

Hi Bryanna,

Thank you for the taking the time and replying to my post, Last time when I traveled to Canada I was not in Dubai at the time as I was in South Africa working for telecommunication company, When do you think I should submit my application, October 30, 2015 was my last day in Canada.

regards
Ali

Hi Ali,

Even though you were in South Africa previously, a *visit* of 7 months indicates weak employment ties.... unless you were between jobs.

IMO, your only strong ties are your employment.

You must demonstrate your ties to both the UAE and Pakistan. What can you show for this?

Will your wife file for your PR shortly?

Cheers

Hey,

I have a job in Dubai working full-time, I have not been to pakistan in ages, I was in South Africa for 10 years family had a business there moved back to pakistan I stayed there in 2014 I flew to Canada to get married which was previously arranged long before my wife even had a PR.

I know it is stupid but I don't want to ask her to apply for my PR, she might think I married her for PR

regards
Ali

I can get a employment letter from my employer stating my employment duration and salary, that is what i did last time when I applied for TRV.

Hi,

As you've started working in Dubai quite recently, you must demonstrate your strong ties to:
1. The UAE (employment + lease agreement + family ties)

2. Pakistan (property/land ownership + financial + family ties)

3. South Africa (business ties + office lease agreement + any property ownership + financials, etc)

I know it is stupid but I don't want to ask her to apply for my PR, she might think I married her for PR
Will your wife remain in Pakistan for a fairly long-term? Or does she plan to return to Canada shortly/remain after your intended holiday?

Cheers

Hi,

I started working here in Dubai this January, I don't have any family here. We do have land and property in Pakistan but I don't own it my father does, same with business that was in South Africa.

We are planing on entering Canada together she might not come back with me, she has family in Canada I will come back after the holiday my only worry is I get a month off every year if I don't take my holiday this year I won't get time off, I will have to wait for next year holiday which will probably be end of 2017 again.

cheers

IMHO, I think you must NOT apply for a new TRV.

When you applied the previous time, you were not married + you had very strong business ties to South Africa.

Also, you were granted a 6 months TRV (if my guess is right). For your previous TRV application, did you state that you would be getting married when you visited Canada?

A 6 months' short validity TRV is granted if the passport is valid only for another 6 months.... or if the visa officer believes the applicant has no reason to visit again in the near future.

Your circumstances have changed since then:
You moved to Dubai (only fairly recent employment ties) + no ties to Pakistan (except for family ties) + your spouse is a Canadian PR who will return/remain in Canada/she has not applied for your PR/she is not living with you in the UAE.

You may want to consider visiting only the US and/or another country with your wife this year.... this will also help when you apply for your PR later

Hi Bryanna,

Last time when I applied I was not married as you said, but I was working I did not say anything about family business on my application just submitted my employment proof.

I did not say anything about getting married because I was not sure since it was not decided if were going to have the wedding in Canada or Pakistan at the time.

I think they issued me a 6 months TRV, because when I applied for it I said on my application I am planning for 6 months or less I have a passport which is valid till March 2023.

when do you think I should apply 2 months from now would that make any difference? Thank you!

cheers

Hi,

I think applying two months later will not really change anything.

Three key facts that won't help your TRV application:
1. You stayed for 7 months on your previous visit.

If you had visited for a couple of weeks on your previous visit.... you would be able to convince the visa officer that you are a *genuine visitor* for your next visit.

2. You are married to a Canadian PR + no spousal sponsorship application.

3. You have moved/started working in the UAE quite recently.

I would not advise applying for a TRV presently. It's your choice though. You can try the Dubai>> Canada>> US>> Dubai strategy + demonstrate other strong ties

Hope you get a TRV :)

I'm not sure if you overstayed the last time, or if you got a Visitor Record to be in Canada legally, but a stay like that is going to be a huge red flag next time you apply. Even if it's 5 years from now.

I also fail to understand how you were employed "full time", yet spent 7 months in Canada. Unless you were working illegally while here. That will be the 2nd huge red flag for the officer, and I'm not sure you have a good enough story to explain it all away.

Hi,

@coffee
I did not overstay I initially went to Canada on a 6 months TRV and applied for 1 month extension which was granted, I left Canada before my extended visa expired which was last year October.

Before going to Canada I was working full-time I quit my job and left for Canada, I did not do any work while I was in Canada I lived on my savings and credit card. Now I am working full-time in Dubai since January I would like to go to Western Canada in December on holiday with my wife who is Canadian PR.

Question is should i apply for a TRV is it too early to apply again? As Bryanna suggested I might postponed it for some time since my chances are very slim.

Thanks guys
