I'm currently in Canada and wanted to apply for student permit. I already have all the requirements (Letter of acceptance, GIC etc.) needed. How am I going to apply this?

My visitor record expired last March but I already applied for an extension which is currently in process. Thank you in advance for the help.

The answer is Don't. Applying for a study permit while inside Canada as a visitor almost guarantees a refusal. Better to go back to your home country and apply from there.

Thank tapperb, is there other way than going back home? I read some threads here that we can apply here but as if I'm applying outside canada. I'm a bit confused about that. And in n this time of crisis its hard to go home right now.

yes you can apply within Canada just apply it the same way as if you are applying from overseas, you can include a letter explaining why you want to do it here. I heard it is hard to prove your country tie tho.
btw if you have your GIC does it mean you are doing through SDS? isn't SDS only for applicants applying from their home country? I am not sure if you can do SDS within canada

I applied a GIC here in Canada, the consultant advised that I take a GIC. so not SDS. On the forms like the address, should I put the address on my home country or my address here in Canada as it will be processed as overseas?
