Need advice – CRS 509 (CEC), IELTS expiring soon

Hi everyone,


I'm currently in the CEC stream with a CRS score of 509. My IELTS is set to expire in September, and I have about one year left on my work permit. Scores are L-7.5 R-7 W-7 S-7

With the current draw trends, I’m unsure whether I should re-take the IELTS now or wait. Financially, things are a bit tight at the moment, so I’d really prefer to avoid the cost if I don’t need to re-write.

Do you think it's worth retaking IELTS now, or is 509 likely to be enough in the near future? Also, FYI, my cec file was refused in march due to some errors in my job letter but that is different topic.

Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Retake IELTS and max your scores as you don't know if scores will come down by September.

Also consider CELPIP as an alternative, much easier to ace.
