Hi All,

My wife got her passport request from New Delhi VO in May 2021. Before receiving the passport request, she moved to Germany. With the current processing times in India, she cannot send her passport for TRV as she need it for her stay in Germany. I sent webform to see if NDVO can change the VO to Germany so she can send the passport to VO in Germany. I have sent multiple webforms and haven't gotten any response from them since 2 months.

I haven't changed the India address in the application. Would changing address force them to change the VO? Any suggestions on what I can do next? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

You don't need to 'change the visa office', and too late to change the address.

You can technically submit anywhere in the world through VFS offices in the right country:
https://visa.vfsglobal.com/deu/en/can/apply-visa

VFS will send to a visa office (embassy or consulate) that can insert the visa in passport and the rest (might be in Germany, might be Paris or London or Warsaw or some other visa office). (That visa office will presumably check with NDVO or in the system, but it does work).

(You need to select the subsection 'submit passports and other documents').

BUT: highly recommend contacting VFS first and/or New Delhi visa office and/or some European visa office.

There's nothing difficult or that unusual about this case SAVE finding the right person in VFS or one of the visa offices who will confirm and take it. Eg VFS in Germany might say you have to contact someone else. VFS chatline (through their website) actually works but will take a while to find someone who can answer, but at least you won't be on hold.

That said, it's possible your spouse could just follow the instructions to submit in Germany and that would force them to figure it out, but I don't know and might cause more confusion.

This happens relatively frequently eg PAs in USA or UK or Australia, just that the passport request instructions tend to be for 'local' VFS. It will work out, just might take a bit of extra prep.
