Need a good immigration lawyer in Victoria, B.C

Can anyone recommend a good immigration lawyer in Victoria B.C.? Looking for someone who is action driven and not just chat!!

OP waited too long to apply for the PGWP after completing his/her studies and was refused.

Ah... Tricky... I can't imagine what grounds there might be for an appeal in this case. I am always amazed by the lack of attention paid by those that have struggled through the system to obtain access to Canada, and then just throw it away again. Just my personal opinion, not specifically directed at this OP.

I completely agree with regards to the appeal. Appeals work when CIC has made the wrong decision on an application. In this case the OP applied to late and the refusal was technically correct.

However a lawyer may know of other options...

Yes it would seem that way, but in reality it was an honest misunderstanding. Long story short (as posted in the International Student section), we read online that if you have a current work permit you should not apply for a renewal until 60 days before it expired, so I applied for my PGWP in September 2013. We thought the off-campus work permit and the PGWP were related that's why we delayed applying for the PWGP. Upon applying for a PGWP we were told it it is outside of the 120 days after graduation.

You made an error, CIC will have no sympathy as the Regulations are the Regulations. But if you wish to increase a lawyer's income, that is your privilege.
