Hello,
My husband and I'll be starting a teaching program this Sept. I'm a Canadian and I'll be sponsoring him. Between us we have the savings to finance our tuition and our living expense for the next year and a half. My concern is that during the school term I won't have much of an income, just a few hours here and there. Between terms I can work full-time hours. I have RRSP and he has some inheritance which we won't be using for our schooling, but only for emergencies.
My current employer is happy to give me work in the winter and summer between terms, so it'll be an ongoing contract.
With my RRSP and his inheritance and what other savings I will make in the future I technically have the financial means to support both of us. Would CIC take into consideration our present finances and our savings? Do I meet the necessary income requirement even though I won't be fully employed in the following months?
