Hello.

I tried applying for my EOI in the INB portal under the NBPNP Skilled Worker Stream - Work Experience in NB.

Based on the new pathways released on February 5, 2025 under this stream, people who have worked at least 6 months with an eligible employer in New Brunswick and who has lived and worked in New Brunswick for at least 6 months are eligible to apply. Based on this, I qualify for both. I worked under the same eligible employer from Aug. 1, 2024 till now Feb. 6, 2025. This counts to exactly 6 months and 6 days.

Back to my problem: I tried applying for my EOI in INB and it says I'm ineligible. Is this just a glitch or am I not eligible, if yes what are the possible reasons?

Without knowing anything about you, you need to read through the program guide. Assume employer filled out the forms and you read the guide and meet all requirements - NOC, wage, education, language, employer paid fee etc.

Based on the new NBPNP Skilled Worker Stream - NB Work Experience released on Feb. 5, 2025; the requirements to be eligible to enter are 1) 6 months or more of working for an eligible NB employer 2) Lived and worked for 6 months or more in NB. My NOC is TEER 3 Nurse Aide in Healthcare. Language test is C1 (advanced). Education is post-secondary inside Canada. Age is 23. Minimum work experience is 6 months and almost 7 months by March 1, 2025.

Based on this, I am eligible for this new pathway under the NBPNP Skilled Worker Stream.

I have sent my EOI to the portal successfully after going through the questions carefully.

Now my question is, how long will the ITA be issued? My work permit expires on Feb. 25, 2025 and I have a Visitor Visa under process in case I receive it past my expiry so I can maintain my status in Canada.

My employer is willing to support me and have provided me with the PNP-004 form already and my confirmation of employment since I've been working under the same company on August 1, 2024.

Will I still be able to apply for the NBPNP if the ITA is received past my work permit expiry date?

No for PNP, you must notify the province after you receive ITA that your work permit is expired and you cannot work with a Visitor Visa. It's the applicant reponsibility to maintain a status and fulfill all requirements during the process of your application.

Yes and I have maintained it even if I have a Visitor's Visa, the catch is I have to stop working. The requirements for this new pathway specifically says I can apply for provincial nomination if I'm a temporary resident with maintained status in Canada. It does not specify that the maintained status can't be a Visitor's Visa - though this means a pause in employment.

Nobody knows how long it may take or who will get ITA.

Do you think it's best for me to stay and wait for the ITA during the 90 day restoration period using my savings to pay for living expenses or should I exit the country while waiting for the ITA and then apply for NBPNP Skilled Worker Stream from the outside then once receiving the nomination certificate, apply for an employer specific work permit and come back as a worker in Canada and submit this nomination certificate for the PR under Non-Express Entry??

I'm running out of options as it's currently Feb. 8 now and my work permit expires on Feb. 25.

It is your decision. With the 50% cuts in PNPs are you certain you will get invitation? What does your employer say?

Obviously nothing is certain, I do know for sure I meet the eligibility. I just don't know how high my points are for me to get ITA quickly.

My employer said they're willing to support me on the NBPNP, but if my work permit expires they can only apply for a closed work permit AFTER I receive the nomination certificate from NBPNP. This might take longer and I feel like my savings would be stretched if it takes more than 6 months to process all of this

Right so you need invitation, apply with documentation and then wait for nomination. That will take months. First you need invitation.

I'm just thinking if I could go back to my previous country of residence so I can live with my parents and save up on living expenses while waiting for the application updates... do you think it will cause complications if applying from outside Canada? I feel this way is more cost effective but I'm scared of leaving in fear of having to provide a large amount of proof of funds

I heard that the process is faster and easier if you leave Canada while you're waiting and your status is no longer a student or worker.
Then you come back as a 'landed immigrant' with your PR application fully processed

Ask a lawyer and look at rules for leaving. Since this is a job offer stream then is employer okay if you may not be able to return to work for a year or more. PNP non EE streams are processed in about 20 months.
