National Identity card for Indian new born baby

Hi All,

I am trying to sponsor my one month old baby born in India. My baby does not have an Aadhar card (National Identity Card) yet. In this case, please clarify me on what I am supposed to submit as National Identity document which is listed in the Checklist (IMM 5534). Also, there is a field asking about National Identity Document in IMM0008. I am so very not sure what I am supposed to do for this. Kindly help me get cleared on this.

How long does it take for your baby to receive a national identity card?

FIrst of all I'd like to tell you that, as far as I know, India does not have any National Identity document (correct me if I'm wrong) Aadhar card is still not accepted as a National ID. As you can see on the checklist, it says "Copies of national identity cards.. IF issued by your country..."
Also, I know you haven't mentioned anything about you being a Canadian Citizen or PR, but if any one of the parent is a Canadian citizen, your child gets Canadian citizenship by descent (no need to sponsor). Don't wait that long for the Adhaar card if it's not necessary...

I read angel4life08 response and googled. angel4life08 is correct.
The document you're referring to for your baby is not considered a National Identity card.
For India you do not record a national identity number, just as angel4life08 said.
