Hello everyone, there's a very common easy on some Indian passports, where they don't contain a surname and contain the full name under the given name section. Since in Canada, it's compulsory to have a surname, CIC puts the full name under the surname field, leaving the given name field blank on Study/Work permits.
I also have the same issue. I will be applying for my permanent residency soon and was wondering if I should split my name correctly on my Indian passport and then use the updated passport to create express entry profile. Will this work? Or I should apply for my permanent residency with my old passport and change the name on all documents later on? It would be a huge help if someone can provide guidance on this issue as I did not seem to find an appropriate answer on some other threads.
