Hello bro's and sisters, I have recently found this forum and its seems very useful to check information here.
I would like to ask few questions today which are related to Canadian spousal visa immigration from Pakistan.

1. If a name spelled different on passport than school record would that matter?
If yes than, what would be the best way to correct it before applying for Canadian immigration. However, the name in Urdu is written same on both documents. An example of that is: Toqeer or Touqeer and in urdu its written as توقیر on each document.

2. If father's name on a passport is different than school record would that count? An example is passport has father name as Mazhar Hussain Bukhari while school record has father name as Syed Mazhar Hussain Bukhari.

Please guide me. I know it's not a big deal for someone who lives in Pakistan because they don't use their English names as often.

1. Write it as it's written on the passport, and put the alternate name as an alias. On a separate piece of paper, explain that it's just a different way of spelling it in English.

2. I don't know about this one, wait for someone else to chime in.

You have two options:

1. Get the correction made to names in passport.

2. Attach an explanation letter why names are written differently on School record and Passport

I could be wrong but I think addition of Syed to father's name is quiet similar to as adding Mr/Dr/Major etc. Your Local Visa office, most likely, will be familiar with such additions to names.

Just attach a letter explaining the differences, and pointing out that in the first example the Urdu is the same, and that in the second example it is just an addition to the name. The visa officers in Pakistan should be familiar with this in any case. Just like in Canada, some documents might have the same person listed as Sandy Dennis, Sandra Dennis, Sandra Jane Dennis, etc. Native speakers of English are not going to find this suspicious.

Thank you all. Your replies are much appreciated. I will probably take the advice of writing a letter to them.
