Hi everyone. I hope that someone can answer these two questions for me.

Question 1) On the IMM 008 Schedule 1 Background/Declaration form, why do they want the applicant to write in their name in their own native script (e.g. Arabic, Cyrillic, Chinese, Korean scryipt)? They also ask the same thing on the Additional Family Information form. I just think that is not Citizenship and Immigration Canada's business to ask us to do this. Do they even know anyone who can read these scripts at their Visa offices? I just wish that they would make the application forms simpler to fill.

Question 2) Does anyone know why it takes the Visa office in Buffalo 20 weeks to process the application package before they ask you to do the Medical check-up?

I would really appreciate your responses. Thank you guys! I don't think it was so complicated to go through the immigration process 15 years ago.

Well, I don't know why, but similar thing happens when you have a passport of a non-English speaking country. They have your name written both in English and native language. But I can tell you one thing, your application will be returned to you approximately 2 months after you submit it if you don't follow the instructions...

FYI, it takes 30 weeks now. Either they are slow or their backlogs keep increasing with which they cannot cope up. Anyway, you can't do anything about it.

That's pretty obvious since the amount of applications that come from all over the world has gone 15 times higher in 15 years. And the world events made everything change...

Thanks Rossie and SASK
For clarity purpose, I should write name in my own language and script for point 2 of Decleration Form and for Additional Family form.
These are the only 2 places I found where we need to write in native script
