I was discussing CEC with my classmates and one of the questions that came up was that the name of the company also may have a say in influencing the VO's opinions.
For example, if I work for say RBC or Hyundai Canada or RIM and they provide a reference letter for me, then the chances of my application moving faster is much higher than if i was working for say, XYZ corporation or some private company.
Does anyone have any opinions or experience in such an issue? According to me it should not matter but one of my friend's opinion was that if say, RBC sends a reference letter with duties, salary and dates then the probability that the VO will be inclined to believe it at face value will be much higher than if a smaller unknown company send in a reference letter. and hence, the application will be processed faster. He is of the opinion it is human nature to believe that a large multinational company would be less inclined towards an individual and hence, less likely to put in wrong info on the letter ( i told him that my boss would be highly offended by this remark ).
The problem was when he put it that way, it kinda convinced me.....and got me thinking. Now if only these companies would employ us then all our problem would be solved.....ha ha ha ha ha ha
what are other people's opinions here? Agree??? Disagree???
