Need some advice for a tricky situation on a FSW application through Express Entry.
Application was submitted in full in January 2020. Principal Applicant (PA) was a woman with her male common-law partner as dependent on the application.
In August 2020 the PA and her dependent got married and she took his last name. She received a new passport reflecting her married name. In September 2020, submitted a web form to IRCC to inform them of the change in marital status and change in last name of the PA, including the marriage license and new passport copy, requesting IRCC to update the immigration record. No response. In October 2020, submitted a second web form to enquire whether the changes had been made. IRCC responded to say that the documents had been received. No changes were ever made in the GCKey Portal to reflect the new last name.
Now in November 2021, IRCC has sent a request letter for both the PA and dependent to re-do their medicals and Schedule A forms. However, on the medical requisition form and request letter, the PA's name has not been changed to reflect her new last name. The last name has been filled in on the medical form by IRCC to reflect her former name when the application was submitted. It seems that IRCC has made no changes to their immigration file regarding their change in marital status and last name despite the PA submitting two web forms to inform them.
What should we do in this situation? Should we go ahead and complete the medical forms using the old name and submit a letter of explanation with the Schedule A forms to say that we tried to inform IRCC of these changes? Or should we do everything in her old last name and send a copy of the new passport and marriage license when the passport request is issued?
