Hello Everyone,
I landed recently on July 12th, 2015. Because I applied with my maiden name my PR card came in my old name. I now want to get a name change. I understand that I need to fill out a renewal application and provide everything they request. However, I have a few questions I was hoping someone could answer.
1. They ask for copies of all our passports in the past 5 years AND CRA tax returns OR proof of enrolment in a secondary school. Since I just landed I have not filled taxes in Canada and I already completed all my post graduate studies. Has anyone ever encountered this and was a letter of explanation enough?
2. When filling out the address and employment history the FROM and TO area. What date do you use for the "TO". It does not allow me to fill in the word "present." It is asking for a YYYY-MM-DD format. Should I enter the date I sign the application?
3. Has anyone ever gotten a name change right after landing? Could you share your experience please?
Thank you in advance.
