I have a question regarding the name change on my wife's closed work permit. She got her closed work permit before our marriage. Now we got her last name changed on her passport and we received her new passport with her name updated and old passport back as well which is canceled and now we have to apply for TRV.
Do we have to get her name changed on the work permit before we have to apply for TRV? Because in order to apply for TRV we have to mail a photo copy of work permit as well. If we apply for TRV with her new name on the forms and send a photo copy of work permit without the name change, will it get rejected?
I called CIC and the agent told me that it's upto us to get it updated. And then said it is good to have same name on all the documents.
But what if the TRV stamp has her new name on it and during entering canada they look at the work permit and asks us why there is a discrepancy in the names which could cause an issue.
There are questions that I thought I should ask experts over here are as follows
a) What is the correct procedure to get name changed on work permit?
b) What forms to fill and how long will this whole name change process take?
c) what all paperwork to submit and what is the fees?
Any input or advice will be much appreciated.
