Name change in the middle of PR Process

My wife didnt change her maiden name to mine before applying so that things would be less complicated. She wants to change it before she comes to Canada when and if is a good time to do it? Will it slow down the process as its a the Embassy now in Process. Any input would be appreciated.

Once her passport is changed she must send a copy to the processing office, as they will issue the COPR in the name on the passport.

Thanks PMM would it delay the process? otherwise we would just leave it alone until she arrives.
