Name change in reference letter

Hi everyone,

My spouse changed her last name (a common practice in our country) 2 years ago. What name should it be in the reference letter from the job she had after the name change - the old one or the new one? Does it make any difference at all if we have the legal documents on the name change?

It depends upon the time she was working. If she worked before her name change the old one needs to be mentioned and new one if otherwise.
