Name change before Citizenship

Hi,
I am in confusion at the moment as how to get my name changed when I apply for Citizenship in coming months. I currently reside in Winnipeg and the form sent by vital stats is a bit confusing. Any guidance would be appreciated.

My current name on all the docs ( including COPR and Indian passport ) is Firstname : Firstname , lastname : Blank and because of that I had to get my driver's license as Firstname : First , Lastname : Name ( splitting my firstname into two. ).

Please let me know if anyone's been in the same situation as I am.

First step is to change with the province vital stats. In your case here are the steps: https://vitalstats.gov.mb.ca/change_of_name.html
After that you can update Canadian IDs: Drivers license, PR card, CRA, passport(seperate process), Banks etc

I did the PR card update before applying citizenship, that updated my records in IRCC. I am not sure if this is necessary, as Citizenship application already asks for previous name and name change certificate (for the case when name was changed after PR)

I legally changed my name (first and middle) and took husband's last name at once.
I live in Alberta, I went to the registry office and asked what I needed. They gave me an application and told to do fingerprints.
Went to RCMP to give fingerprints, as soon as I had the report I went back to the registry and finished the application.
Then name change certificate was mailed to me. I changed PR card and my country passport after that.
Everything else I updated as I used the service, no issues at all, just had the certificate with you.
Applied for the citizenship with the new name, I'm May 2020 applicant, got AOR in September now waiting for in process.
Let me know if you have questions.

Well, I can't visit the office because of this pandemic but sounds like an easy process. Do you think like I should get my home passport changed as well once I get my name changed since in any case I'll be applying for citizenship and sometime in future will get the name changed in Canadian passport

Another thing I want to ask is, my home country passport would expire next year Dec ( exactly 1 year from now ) and I'll be eligible to apply for citizenship in next 4-5 months. Should I change my name and everything, spend $$ getting home country passport changed ( i don't plan on travelling anywhere ).

Please suggest.

I forgot about this thread. I did my name change application on the day I gave oath. Waited this long to get the process done because I didn't get a satisfactory reply from anyone ( even Vital Stats ).
Been one and half months and there's no acknowledgement and no one picks the phone. Sent a couple of emails but there's no reply. Not sure how long this process takes but one thing is for sure "First world country , Third world problems".
