MyCIC problems

I'm trying to link my spousal sponsorship application and I put everything correct and It can't find my application, quick question in like passport number box do I put The sponsors (me) passport number or the person I am sponsoring passport number? I've been using the person I am sponsorings passport number but I am not sure if I'm doing it right? Can someone please help.

And is MyCIC a good thing to have? I use another website to see my applications state https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/viewcasestatus.do?app= is that good enough ? Does it help?

And do they always email me at like AOR2 and like other things?

Take note the blue fonts below which I've done and worked for me. Enter Principal Applicant's (PA) Last Name, Given Name exactly the same as how CIC addressed the PA when you received AOR1.

Good luck and hope the below steps will also work for you and your PA.

1. Logged in with GC Key account.

2. Permanent Residence > Family Class (Spouses)

2-a. Application Number and Family Name - Copy/pasted application number from email (including the F) and entered PA's last name.

3. City of Birth - I entered 1 space (hit spacebar once)

4. Country of Birth - Selected PA's country of birth

5. Passport Info - Did not enter any passport info

6. Other Application Info - Filled out the other application info as per our application and put '2' as the number of members in the application. I am sponsoring my husband, no dependents.

Again, for 2-a, I selected Family Name, Given Name, Birthday (This is Principal Applicant's (PA) info).

On no. 6, I entered '4' because I have 2 dependents.

And is MyCIC a good thing to have?

It is more useful than ECAS (which you have now) because it shows when your background check has started and seems to be more frequently updated.
Do you have a representative? If yes, then you can't link your application to MyCIC.
