I am trying to 'extend the conditions of my stay' through an online application, but the new myCIC system is making it incredibly confusing.
I am currently in Canada on a visitors visa, waiting for my inland family sponsorship to process. I know that once I have stage 1 approval, I can apply for an OWP, but my current status expires before that is likely to happen. Is my best bet to extend my visitors visa or do I have 'implied status' while my application is processing? If I do need to apply for an extension, how does that work with the new system? I need a "personal checklist code" to proceed with an online application, but am unable to get one. It makes me take some eligibility test, and tells me I'm eligible for spousal sponsorship after I answer the questions, but won't let me continue with an online application, since that's not an option for sponsorship.
Does anyone know how I can get a personal checklist code?
