Please help guys!. My documents have all been scanned and uploaded and are showing in green as 'provided' when i go on to enter my name to electronically sign my documents it keeps saying the information is wrong and doesn't match the information on my application....but it does! My name is the same as it is on the application. I'm so close but i can't get past this stage to pay the fees...any suggestions??

I'm in the exact same position. So close! I've tried a million times to try and sign the electronic signature but it keeps coming back saying that my signature doesn't match the name on my application...but it does. I know my own name. I tried to do the application yesterday so the fact that this is happening to other people makes me think that it might be an issue with the system which we'll just have to wait for them to fix. I'll keep at it though please post back here if you figure it out and I'll do the same. Cheers.

I did my online application yesterday but I never got any problems with the electronic signature. Try to complete the forms once again and re-upload them. Hopefully this time it will work.

Hi DocRZ,

I too had the same problem for about 3 hrs. The clue is in the error message itself, or so I think. I figured out that the Signature is being compared to the name info. from one of the 2 forms that have been uploaded, so I checked both forms (Family Info. and Application for a Work Permit). The naming info. is exactly the same. But the format for the signature matches the format on 'Application for a Work Permit'.

So, I copied the 'Given name(s)' exactly as it appears on Application for a Work Permit, and did the same for the 'Lastname'. Guess what...it worked. I think there was a space on the form..and that was pulled in by the software from MyCIC.

I also suggest you use IE and no other browser.

All the best to you,

Make sure it's the same name everywhere you input. I was having this issue yesterday where it kept saying my name was incorrect --- but I solved it.

In my case, I created a new myCIC login/account - reinput personal information, got a new checklist etc. Then I resubmitted form. It worked and now accepted my signature. I probably had used my nickname when I was doing this first initial step online but they apparently match this up too.

Hope that helps you guys!

I had the same problem while applying for my tourist visa .. Mycic account wouldnt accept my electronic signature .. gave an error stating the name typed didnt match the one in the application. For hours I tried everything with no luck. thats when I read this forum and it was a great help!
I created a new mycic login and uploaded all the documents all over again. Worked like a charm. I could get it electronically signed in one go. I've done the payments and now waiting for the good news hopefully.
And yeah managed to do all of this on chrome browser.
Thanks once again

This error have been driving me nuts for over a week but eventually I figured it out. Follow these steps:-
1) Login to myCic with your existing Login details.
2)Once logged in, you'll have options to Change password, & Revoke your GCKey.
3) Revoke your current GCKey from the above link.
4) Create a new GCKey with new username, password and security questions. If you use the same credentials, it'll pull up the old record again.
5)Login with new GCKey and upload the docs again.
This is what I did to get thru the Signature page.
