I have been working for 1 and half year on work permit in Canada.My wife and son applied the TRV on 8th of Oct'2010 after 8 working days,she got the passports,it seems to be rejected and they send two pages of letter what you have received at 1st time.Here are the points.
1.Your travel history --->She have not travel to any country other than Canada.
2.Your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence --->for this just added my marriage certificate and marriage photos.
3.Length of proposed stay in Canada --->based on my workpermit I put till Sept'2011
4.Purpose of visit --> I put in to stay with my husband
5.Your current employment situation -->She doesn't have any job,just as a housewife.
6.Your personal assets and financial status --> Nothing is there on her name,everything with in-laws name and my name(I put my bank funds stmt)

1.Your travel history --->She have not travel to any country other than Canada.

2.Your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence --->for this just added my marriage certificate and marriage photos.
==> This means that your wife has no sufficient proof that she'll be going back to her country of residence.

3.Length of proposed stay in Canada --->based on my workpermit I put till Sept'2011
==> Length of stay is 6 months max but you can apply for extension for 1 year..

4.Purpose of visit --> I put in to stay with my husband
==> This is the reason for item#2. It means your wife will overstay in Canada

5.Your current employment situation -->She doesn't have any job,just as a housewife.
==> All the more reason that she wont go back to her country of residence

6.Your personal assets and financial status --> Nothing is there on her name,everything with in-laws name and my name(I put my bank funds stmt)
==> insufficient funds to support her stay in Canada.. Even if you provided bank statements and stating that you will shoulder the expenses of their stay, the immigration officer thought it is not enough.

The visa officer will still deny the application because your wife has no job in India that she can go back to.. And the visa officer fears that your wife will try to apply in Canada so she could stay longer..

Does your wife have any travel history outside India? This may help prove that she has every intention of going back to India.
