---------------------------
I did my Oath on Sat 6th and it was for sure a great day for me ..
Thought I share few things from my experience:
1- My application took 17 months although I was employed with a big company since I landed in Canada. My wife applied after me with the kids (because they came later to Canada). her application took around 7 months only and she finished before me
2- I got a FP request on March, it took around 9 months for CIC to call me for the test.
3- I asked my MP to step in and his office called CIC to speed up the process, I don't think it helped. in fact I met my MP few months later and he said there is NOT much we can do.
4- I suggest everyone to prepare for the test seriously, it's not difficult, but if you don't study you might fail ! I got 20/20
5- my passport was expired during the time of the interview - that was not an issue and I was not asked about this. the interview was for 10 minutes and went very smoothly.
6- I got my oath letter 2 weeks after the test.
one last advice, don't compare yourself to someone's else application. every case is different ! and most importantly - Be Patient ..
Best of luck to everyone who is still waiting .. I was on ur seat few weeks ago, I know it's not easy !!
