Hi forum,

Need your help. I am an international graduate student my study permit expires by 31-march-17. I am writing up my thesis this may take more than 3 months so I am thinking of extending my study permit till Aug 17. Along with my application I will apply for extension of my wife's open work permit. I am also thinking of applying visitors visa for mother in law as my wife is pregnant.

Do you think is it okay to apply for 3 visas at a one go? I am afraid of rejection. Please suggest

Thanks

I just came to know that I cant apply visitors visa for my mother in law who is in India. Is that right?? If yes, why is questionnaire which I used to know if I can extend my study permit also giving an option of submitting application for family member??

So confusing. Any help

Family member refers only to spouse/common-law partner and dependent children. Your mother-in-law is not considered a family member and cannot be included in your applications.

Hi Thanks for your reply.

Even for family members I think they have to apply from their own country.

Then why the hell they are asking during my extension of my student visa questionnaire " Do you want to submit application for your family member?"

Am I missing something

This is confusing hell out of me

That link is referring to people outside of Canada.

When it asks if you want to apply for a family member, select Yes to add your spouse.
