My son is a Malaysian passport holder residing in Chennai,India.About a month ago he had gone to visit his sick grandfather in Malaysia.We as a family are planning our yearly trip and this year planned our trip to Toronto.My husband (indian passport)and i (Malaysian passport)already have our Temporary tourist visas.Since my son was in Malaysia he decided to apply for a temporary residence visa to Canada.His biometric took place in Singapore and after one month, today he was asked to submit his passport.He however returned to Chennai a few days ago because he has to travel to US under B1/2 visa for a semester programme tomorrow.I need to know if he can submit his passport with the relevant receipts to a VAC in LA.An appropriate reply is greatly appreciated.Thank you.

Yes, he can submit his passport to the LA VAC. He must email both the Singapore and LA visa offices to confirm that he can do so.

He must factor in adequate time for passport transmission and visa stamping when he is in the US
