my short stay story in canada

hallo friends
i am working as a cook in a government institution in India and my wife is also working as a clerk in government sector, I applied for the PR in 2010 and got my most awaited visa in the month of feb. 2014 and landed in a small town of Alberta with my wife and five year old kid. the reason behind landing in a small town is that my very close relative is also living in the same town they already arranged accommodation for me. As you know my profession is cooking and i am master in indian cuisine, unfortunately there was no indian restaurant in the town yet i got cooking job in four days after my landing but it was a canadian hotel and i am not familiar with that kind of food, even i dont know the abc of canadian cuisine, it was very difficult for me to understand the their style of cooking and language initially but after couple of weeks i learn ther cooking.


canada aane se pehle main har waqt ye sochta tha ki mera visa kab lagega lekin canada aane ke baad main har pal bechain rehne laga, muje lagta tha ki maine bahut badi galti kar li yahan aakar, is dauran meri wife ko bhi part time job mil gayi, lekin maine faisla kar liya ke main vapis india jaaoonga kyunki hum dono ne apni job se resign nahi kiya tha, after three months canada main rehne ke baad main vapis india aa gaya hoon aur hum dono apni apni jobs kar rahe hai.

lekin pata nahi kyu jis visa ke liye maine 4 saal intezaar kiya woh milne ke baad mera us se man kyu bhar gaya. main to permanently settle hone ke liye gaya tha lekin pata nahi mera mann kyu nahi laga. main ye sab aap logo ke sath islliye share kar raha hoon ki shayad aap log mere in sawalon ka jawab de sake.

Sad story...I am not able to answer but you made me thinking about my plans. I think some recent immigrant can put some light on this.

I am glad that you shared your honest experience. What you gone through is normal and every immigrant go through something like that. There is difference between perception and reality and you will have no idea about reality until you experience it yourself. You got your visa, you landed, you didn't like it here so you gone back. There is nothing wrong in that. We do experiments in our lives and learn from them, that is how the life goes. Now whether you wanna come back is totally your decision and you have to be absolutely sure about it. Yes the life will not be easy initially, yes you'll have to work much harder than you might be doing now, but hard work will eventually pay off, especially if you work smartly. Even if you don't wanna come back, that is ok. People are living in world outside Canada and are doing good, so no big deal.

for new migrant took five year to settle in canada. yes, ofcouse for new migrant its very hard to face new situation and settle in new environment. some people say i did not get good job there thats why i came back etc reasion. but i would like to suggest for new migrant give some time and stay there , made frd or try to get good job .it not a game to some day to settle there. go alone first and find good job then invite your family thats good way to settle there. i think canada is a good country good environment. think again to settle there for your self and kidz life....

I really sympathize with you friend. But there are also many success stories which we must not forget.

One thing we need to ask ourselves is "why are we moving to Canada ?" If it is because of herd mentality, we need to avoid filing the application.

Only if we are looking at long term gains, have a readiness to work hard, face hardships during initial couple of years or more, should we opt for this PR
