Hi I am very worried about this... I came to Canada with an Open work permit because I'am husband of an international student , my wfe has done her studies on december but the SOWP that i got is until march 31. So i would like to know how can I do to extend the open work permit, my wife is working but in two part time jobs, me too in a full time job but is low skilled.
I heard that this is impossible at least my wife get a skilled job in NOC A, B 0 . or I would get an LMIA from my current employer, I am doing this paper work with my employer but I think that they won't do it because since per month I am insist with them and until now they don't send my application to service canada arguing that this takes too many time. Please I need to know another options, please I came from a country which as an economical agreetment with Canada similar to NAFTA... maybe I can work in farms????? please if you know options tell me i don't wanna go back to my country or stay here but unemployed, we need money!, please help me with your responses, thanks

Your wife will have to get a full time job that is NOC 0, A or B. Once your wife has a qualifying job, you will be able to extend your OWP.

If your wife can't get a qualifying job, then you would need to find an employer who is willing to offer you a full time job and also obtain an approved LMIA - you can then apply for a closed work permit tied to that specific employer.

Hope this helps.
