Hey everyone!

It's been a while since I have logged into this forum. Was very busy this whole week sorting out various things (which I will explain below). We are getting settled down pretty well, and I am sure you all will do just fine..! :)

So, we landed at EIA on 12th May 2015. The customs and immigration process went very smoothly, maybe because it's a very small airport and short-staffed..! hehe! :D nevertheless, we had a smooth landing. We did not have to show proof of funds or goods accompanying forms, though we had everything ready! We came out of the airport by around 8:00 pm, and surprisingly it was still nice and sunny outside hahaa :) though a bit chilly.
We had booked a hotel at downtown Edmonton for 3 days stay, and luckily for us we were able to find a good accommodation at the downtown itself by Day 2 of our landing ($1000/month).

The other formalities such as SIN, opening bank accounts, healthcare, etc. all were completed in 2 days time and we are now awaiting for the PR cards and healthcare cards to arrive to our mail.

The weather here is pretty cool, but today it was nice and sunny, though it's a good idea to have a light sweater on at all times, just in case! :)

We are currently looking for jobs, and hopefully by then, we can be really settled down and good to start a new life here in this beautiful country!

If you have any questions, please feel free to PM!

Cheers!

Congrats :)

Good luck for your Job search.

Congrats Preeren !! Wish you all the best :) Thanks for sharing +1

Congrats Preeren. Enjoy Canada. Ensure that you maintain little amount on your cheque-in account so that you don't over-spend. Let the huge bulk of your money be in the savings account so that you can control your spending. 200 CAD dollars a month should be adequate for your monthly feeding with your family....Visit Dollarama stores or Dollar Tree stores to buy cheap things of very high quality....No frills too is a very good convenience store...you'll have a job soon...but mind your spending. The product market in Canada is discriminatory because you can actually see variances in the prices...but those 3 stores offer you the cheapest till you land your dream job and can begin to buy Givenchy, Marks and Spencer....etc. I ve been there...just pray for me that my application too should gain speed. Congrats Bro...You can PM me if you need to know some things.
