My girlfriend is Canadian and moved back I'm a British citizen looking to join

Hello I'm a UK citizen and my Canadian girlfriend has moved back recently.

I am looking to join her over there with future plans to start a family and marriage. Upon looking on the varies visa and immigration sites I am still confused on what is the best option to ensure my acceptance in Canada to be with her.

We have lived together for a year and half and have been together for over 2 years. I don't know if a working permit would help as I have 11yrs experience in the catering industrie.

Basically I just need a clearer understanding on what the best options are and also the time scale of the options that I have.

If you have proof of living together for at least 1 year, then you are officially common-law and can apply immediately for PR as such. You must ensure you have ample proofs of cohabitation though, like a shared lease/rental agreement, mail to both of you going to same address, joint finances showing same address, etc etc. If you can't prove the cohabitation, it will be hard to get PR.
