I am a Canadian citizen and my friend is currently in Canada with a tourist visa.
She owns an online business and wants to register her company as self-proprietorship in Canada so she can expand her business offline.
She said she heard from somewhere that a person with Visitor's visa cannot be an employee but can be self-employed.
It just doesn't make any sense to me as the purpose of this visa is visitation only. She does not quality for the Business Visa as she does not have enough asset or experience. She wants to hire me as her employee when her application @ ONE STOP approves. I have my own business and when I applied for my corporate name, I am certain it only allowed Citizen or Permanent resident to operate one.
She will be writing my pay in biweekly cheques so she can write it off as commission. Huh? Does not make any sense. Perhaps I am misinformed.
Can someone clarify me with the above?
