If she lied about working illegally during her application she could. As far as I know, the only way to lose your citizenship is if you were deliberately untruthful when obtaining it, or permanent residency.T222RD said:My freind worked illegally and then became citizen. She had a student visa and worked illigally for a year, then got a work permit and finally her citizenship. Can she lose her citizenship for that?
If she was truthful about her residence in Canada -resident requirements- and lawfully acquired her permanent residence, I don't think she would face revocation of citizenship. She might face a charge for not paying taxes while working illegally. If she obtained PR unlawfully, she might face criminal charge which might as well result in loose of citizenship (because residence requirements were not met, so unlawfully acquired citizenship).T222RD said:My freind worked illegally and then became citizen. Oh come on, that's just mean...newtone said:Yes she will loose it, she'll be receiving a letter soon if she has not done so yet.
Yeah, why should they? Canada has these things called laws, and if you break them, there will be consequences...newtone said:I know I know, I don't create the rules, but one thing I've learn from Canada is if you are trying to pull a fast one with the government they will not spare you
how do you know this? do you have proof?T222RD said:My freind worked illegally and then became citizen. She had a student visa and worked illigally for a year, then got a work permit and finally her citizenship. Can she lose her citizenship for that?
