Hi Guys, I would like to share my experience with you as I went through this journey recently. I managed to achieve CLB 9 in TCF Canada knowing that I'm not a francophone ( I'm not a native speaker ). I started to learn french 3 years ago i was litterally with 0 knowledge but i managed to get more than I wanted thanks god.
I used to listen daily to the french radio ( RFI ) and reading Articles from popular newspaper like: ( Le monde, Le parisien ) and this really helped me with improving my language skills espicially reading and listening ( which are the most complicated and difficult parts of the exam )
My journey started in February 2021, this was my 1st attempts but unfortunately i had to retake it again because of reading section :
- Reading : CLB 6
- Listening : CLB 7
- Writing: CLB 7
- Speaking : CLB 7
I had to retake the exam another time because of the reading section
My second attempt was in October 2021: this time i was really well prepared i was listening daily to French radio ( RFI ) and reading from newspaper like ( le monde) but what really helped me to get a good score was using ( tcfca ) site which i found really helpfull and free !, I was able to prepare myself using listening and reading exercises 100% similar to the exam and it contains a lot of topics in Writing and Spealing sections which keep repeating the whole month ! the members keep sharing their topics everymonth on their site and site helping them to regroup a good amount of topics.
I also subscribed to their membership plan which i found really helpfull in Reading and Listning sections.
My results were:
- Reading : CLB 9
- Listening : CLB 9
- Writing: CLB 9
- Speaking : CLB 9
My primary objectif was to get CLB 7 in french because i was afraid of stucking in IELTS because of writing but luckily I was very lucky to get CLB 9 which as a great achievement for me !
Here's all materials I used for my preparation:
- TCFCA: https://www.tcfca.com
- RFI: https://savoirs.rfi.fr/en
- LE Monde: https://www.lemonde.fr/
- Le Parisien: https://www.leparisien.fr/
