My case is a little bit unique. I am confused.

I graduated from kinesiology master program and now work as a lifeguard and swimming instructor part time. Hopefully I can get a full time of this job.

However, today my friend told me that this job can be done even by young people without college degree and if I apply CEC using this, I will be declined.

In my opinion, these jobs are qualified by carrying certificates and I really like them.

Before I graduated, I worked in a clinic as a physiotherapy assistant, but I found it is not my type of work.

Anyone has ideas? I wanna immigrate, do I need to transfer back to my previous job?

Really confused.

Even after immigration, I still wanna be a swimming instructor, I like working with kids and young people.

Good news is that your job still counts.

It's great that you've pursued your passion. With that being for Canadian Experience Class there are particular requirements that need to be met including:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/apply-who.asp

Skilled work experience

According to the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC), skilled work experience means:

- Managerial jobs (NOC skill type 0)
- Professional jobs (NOC skill type A)
- Technical jobs and skilled trades (NOC skill type B)

You must have at least 12 months of full-time, or an equal amount in part-time, skilled work experience. Full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week.

Your job (Swimming Instructor / Lifeguard) falls under NOC 5254:

http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/ProfileQuickSearch.aspx?val=5&val1=5254

This is a NOC B and your experience as long as it meets the required duration is valid for CEC application. Start collecting documents as soon as possible and READ THE CHECKLIST FIRST.

Thanks for your encourage. I like this because I was also a good athlete in swimming before. I like sports so much that's why I chose kinesiology as my major.

I just doubt if I will be overqualified as my master study is much profounder than what I am doing now, though my major and work are related.
