Must a child under 18 be in Canada when the parent applies for his/her Canadian citizenship?

Son will still be under 18 (in fact under 16) when he fulfills the 1,095 days residence requirement in Canada. We are all Canadian PR's. When I apply for the Canadian citizenship after fulfilling the RO, must my son be in Canada when I make the application?

Or is it not a requirement because he will still be considered a minor and the application for his citizenship can be made by his parent (me) who will continue to stay in Canada?

He would have to be in Canada for the oath but i think you can add him to your app in absentia. Depending on how long he’s been out of Canada in the last 4yrs, he may have to submit a police report for any country he’s been 185days or more at a stretch.
